if only I could be in the Hundred Acre Woods right now.

i miss the old winnie the pooh with christopher robin. before the were puppets and were wonderfully drawn and pooh would hop across the letters at the beginning as the narrator narrated and then fall into his red shirt. i miss him.

Praise Jesus! No offense to anyone who’s a Catholic but they scare me and this is really nice to see.

Welp.. didn’t take long for Chris Brown to revert back to his a-holeishness.  That whole ‘I’m sorry’ tour was clearly an act.
Douche.

I disagree. The fact that he’s tired of being punished for something that he’s already apologized (and is paying) for, that was really no one’s business anyway doesn’t mean he’s an asshole. I would be tired too. Before the Rihanna thing, he was known as one of the good guys, right? I don’t blame him for being upset. People need to let him get past it. He made a mistake. People act like they’ve never done that, or like the boy should be persecuted for it forever. We do still believe in rehabilitation in this country, right?

my internet persona has changed.

somewhat. i deleted some friends on facebook and made my profile extra private in preparation for student teaching and subsequent interviews. i also made an e-portfolio website called Alicia’s Teaching Space. Today has ben super productive and it’s not even noon. I deserve a round of applause.

“I think we ought to read only the kind of books that wound and stab us. If the book we are reading doesn’t wake us up with a blow on the head, what are we reading it for? We need the books that affect us like a disaster, that grieve us deeply, like the death of someone we loved more than ourselves, like being banished into forests far from everyone, like a suicide. A book must be the axe for the frozen sea inside us.”

Kafka (via fuckyeahhappy)

I so agree.

Me too. I beat it way back in middle school. Fun times, but I don’t remember the story at all… gotta play thru it again now that I’m so much more into LoZ…

I would have finished this game if my sister didn’t break it in two. However by sunday, since i actually have to do work the next two days, i should be done with phantom hourglass.

I can’t find the article on CNN, and that really bothers me. It should be easier to find.

I don’t know why this hasn’t gotten more attention.

Actually, yes, I do. Tiger Woods is why this hasn’t gotten more attention.

The government of Uganda has proposed a bill that will more than likely get passed in the next month or two. The bill would allow the government to execute their citizens if they have had homosexual relations (it may be life in prison or death.. I can’t remember). A person would also be executed if they tested positive for HIV/AIDS. The bill would ban organizations that ‘promote’ homosexuality. The type of groups they’re implying are HIV/AIDS prevention groups. Oh, and if you know of someone that is having homosexual relations, and you don’t report them, and you get caught, then you’ll serve three years in prison.

There were several other things listed. But, this is so wrong.. I can’t even.

What about the people that are born with AIDS because their parents had it? Straight people get AIDS, too.

I printed the article out and passed it around my Journalism class today. Everyone was appalled.

It kills me that this has gotten little to no media attention. According to the article, one religious leader in Uganda had proposed that they banish all gays to an island and force them to live there until they die. I don’t even..!

And the terrifying part is, it’s about to be passed. 95% of the population does not want homosexuality to be legal. Most Christian and Muslim leaders in the country are for the bill.

The article that I printed out is in my car, so I’ll try to remember to bring it in tomorrow and I’ll post more specifics.

Is this the one you’re talking about?: http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/12/10/uk.uganda.protests/
